Mayanadhi to be remade in Bollywood?

Director Aashiq Abu‘s Mayanadhi which made waves in Mollywood after it’s release in 2017, is now headed to Bollywood. Starring Tovino Thomas and Aishwarya Lekshmi in leading roles, the film was a love story that revolved around an aspiring actress and a disoriented youth. Now, the film is said to have caught the attention of the Bollywood film industry. The Hindi version of the film is said to be helmed by Joe Rajan, who directed the film ‘Luv U Soniyo‘. The news of the remake was announced at the audio launch of Mohanlal‘s Neerali. The movie will be produced by Aashiq Abu, Sachin Pilgonkar, and Santhosh Kuruvila. The rest of the details of the cast and crew are yet to finalized.
Earlier this year, Mohanlal appreciated the film and posted his views on his Twitter page. He posted ”Had the opportunity to see Mayanadhi a few days ago and I thoroughly enjoyed the film. It is a beautifully woven love story. On the occasion of the 75th-day celebration of Mayanadhi, I would like2 appreciate the entire cast and crew behind this movie for their great effort.”

Mayanadhi went on to win the prestigious Padmarajan Puraskaram this year.
