Was Vijay Sethupathi’s house really raided?

Last week, reports news reports suggested that actor Vijay Sethupathi‘s house was raided by the income tax department, and the admirers of the actor were shocked over this news. However, there wasn’t any official statement from Vijay Sethupathi. However, he chose to respond over the issue at the press meet of his latest film ’96. On being quizzed about the details of this raid, Vijay Sethupathi stated that it was in fact a survey and not a raid. He said ”I have been paying advance tax for over two years now, and my auditor forgot to file returns for it, which is why the IT department was alarmed, and they decided to simply do a survey”. On being asked if the negative reports in the news would affect him, he said ”Negative news always generates publicity, and it’s become a trend to put negative news first. Such things don’t affect me”.
