News of Tamil Nadu player Varun Chakaravarthy being picked by Kings XI Punjab from the IPL auctions for Rs 8.4 crore has made cricket lovers find out more about the player. The 27-year old has been started out playing cricket at the age of 13. He stopped playing after he joined college. He pursued architecture at SRM University in Chennai. After working for two years in an architecture firm, he began playing cricket again. He even got the chance to bowl in the CSK nets.
Apart from this, did you know that Varun was a part of a Tamil film? Varun played a minor role as a cricketer in director Suseenthiran’s Jeeva which starred Vishu Vishal as an ambitious cricketer. Director Suseenthiran even congratulated him on his Twitter page.
