Aishwarya Rajesh opens up about stepping into Trisha’s role in Saamy 2

Director Hari and actor Vikram’s Saamy 2 (Saamy Square), the sequel to the hit film Saamy which released in 2003 is hitting screens this Friday, 21st September. The film features actors Keerthy Suresh and Aishwarya Rajesh who are playing female leads in the film. While Keerthy Suresh will play a new character in the film Aishwarya Rajesh is said to play the role of Bhuvana, wife of Aarusaamy (Vikram). This role was played by Trisha in the first part of the film. When the sequel to the film was first announced, Trisha was signed on for the role, however, she opted out citing creative differences. That’s when the makers decided to rope in Aishwarya Rajesh to play the role of the caring, strong and pretty Bhuvana.

Speaking about stepping into Trisha’s shoes, Aishwarya Rajesh said ”I was scared of playing her role, but director Hari gave me the confidence. I have always admired Trisha, I feel good and honoured to play her role in the film”. She also spoke about her co-star Keerthy Suresh, and said became her fan after her film Mahanati (Nadigaiyar Thilagam). Saamy will also release in Telugu under the same name.
