Watch: Bharathiraja gets angry when asked about the Me Too Movement
Share
When veteran director Bharathiraja was asked about the Me Too Movement at a press conference, his first response was “what are talking you talking about?”. When a reporter went on to explain the issue to him in regards to Chinmayi’s accusations about lyricist Vairamuthu, he interrupted him, and asked him if he has seen the incident happening with his own eyes. The angry Bharathiraja then raised his voice and told the journalists that he is never ready to take irrelevant questions, after which he stormed out.
The Me Too Movement is currently the topic of discussion on social media and outside. Last week singer Chinmayi and other women in media went on to accuse Vairamuthu of sexual misconduct. Singer Karthik and a host of Carnatic singers have also been named by women.
Given that the Bharathiraja is a senior in the film industry, it would have suited the event if he had been a clam. Supporting the movement is one thing, being rude to journalists who are doing their job is another. We wish he introspects his actions. What do you guys think?
